Description

A simple and delicious strawberry puree perfect for adding fresh, natural sweetness to your drinks. Made by gently cooking strawberries with sugar and water, then blending into a smooth sauce. This versatile puree can be used in cocktails, smoothies, lemonades, or desserts.

Ingredients

Strawberry Puree Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh strawberries, hulled and quartered
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon water

Instructions

  1. Combine ingredients: Add the strawberries, sugar, and water to a small saucepan. You can substitute frozen strawberries if fresh ones are not available.
  2. Cook strawberries: Heat the mixture over medium heat for 6 to 8 minutes, stirring occasionally until the strawberries soften and release their juices.
  3. Blend the mixture: Remove the saucepan from heat and allow it to cool slightly. Transfer the strawberry mixture to a blender and pulse a few times until smooth, avoiding over-blending for the best texture.
  4. Strain and chill (optional): For an ultra-smooth puree, strain through a fine mesh sieve to remove seeds and pulp. Chill the puree completely before using in your favorite drinks.

Notes

  • You can use frozen strawberries if fresh ones are out of season or unavailable.
  • Adjust the sugar quantity according to your sweetness preference or dietary needs.
  • Straining is optional but recommended for a silky texture especially in cocktails or delicate beverages.
  • Store the puree in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
