Description

This Skinny Peppermint Protein Milkshake is a refreshing and festive beverage inspired by Chick-fil-A, combining peppermint flavor with protein powder for a delicious and nutritious treat. Made with vanilla or peppermint protein powder, almond milk, ice cream, and peppermint bark, this milkshake is blended to perfection and topped with whipped cream and a maraschino cherry for an indulgent yet skinny delight.

Ingredients

Milkshake Ingredients

  • 1 scoop Peppermint Bark or vanilla protein powder (32g)
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk (180g) (or milk of choice)
  • 200 g ice cubes
  • 3 Tbsp vanilla ice cream (45g) (Edy's Slow Churned French Vanilla recommended)
  • 1 piece peppermint bark (15g), chopped
  • 1/2 tsp liquid stevia
  • 1/4 tsp peppermint extract
  • 1/4 tsp Xanthan gum
  • Red food coloring (optional for presentation)

Toppings

  • Whipped cream
  • Maraschino cherry
  • Optional: crushed peppermint bark, Cool Whip, sprinkles, Oreo crumbles, PBFit, black cocoa, cereal

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Blender: Add all the milkshake ingredients—protein powder, almond milk, ice cubes, vanilla ice cream, chopped peppermint bark, liquid stevia, peppermint extract, xanthan gum, and optional red food coloring—into a high-powered blender such as a Ninja IQ.
  2. Initial Blend: Press start and blend for 10 seconds to get the ingredients moving, then press the Auto IQ button to blend through the full cycle to ensure smooth, crushed ice and well combined flavors.
  3. Adjust Consistency and Sweetness: Taste the milkshake and make adjustments if needed. Add more liquid stevia if a sweeter taste is desired, more milk for a thinner shake, or 2-3 additional ice cubes for thicker texture. Blend again until the ideal consistency and sweetness are reached.
  4. Serve and Garnish: Pour the milkshake into a large glass or bowl to allow for toppings. Top with whipped cream and a maraschino cherry. Add any optional toppings like crushed peppermint bark or sprinkles for extra flair and texture.

Notes

  • Use a powerful blender capable of crushing ice to get the best creamy texture.
  • Adjust sweetness to your preference with liquid stevia; you can substitute with other sweeteners if desired.
  • Red food coloring is optional and used mainly for festive presentation.
  • To keep it skinny, choose low-fat or sugar-free ice cream and unsweetened almond milk.
  • This recipe yields one large serving approximately 12-16 ounces.
  • Xanthan gum helps thicken the shake and create a smooth, creamy texture without adding calories.
