Description

This Shortcut Strawberry Fudge is a quick and easy no-bake treat combining creamy white vanilla chips and strawberry-flavored frosting, enhanced with freeze-dried or fresh strawberries for a fruity twist. Ready in just over half an hour, it’s perfect for a delightful dessert or snack, finished optionally with sprinkles for a fun touch.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 (12-ounce) package white vanilla chips/morsels or pink candy melts (or 12 ounces chopped white chocolate)
  • 1 (16-ounce) can strawberry-flavored ready-made frosting
  • 1/2 cup freeze-dried strawberries (optional, or chopped fresh strawberries, patted dry with paper towels)
  • Sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Pan: Line an 8x8-inch pan or dish with parchment paper or foil so the edges overhang the sides for easy fudge removal.
  2. Melt Chips: Place the white vanilla chips or candy melts in a microwave-safe glass bowl. Microwave on HIGH for 45 seconds, then stir well. Microwave an additional 15 seconds and stir until smooth. The residual heat will help melt the chips thoroughly as you stir.
  3. Combine Ingredients: Stir in the entire tub of strawberry-flavored frosting until fully combined. Gently fold in the freeze-dried or fresh strawberries if using, to distribute evenly.
  4. Shape Fudge: Spoon the fudge mixture into the prepared pan and spread it evenly to the edges. If desired, sprinkle with sprinkles and gently press them into the warm fudge to adhere.
  5. Store Properly: For fudge made with freeze-dried strawberries or without strawberries, store at room temperature for up to 1 week. Fudge made with fresh strawberries should be refrigerated and consumed within 36 hours.
  6. Set Fudge: To speed up setting to a firm texture, refrigerate the fudge for 30 minutes. Alternatively, allow it to set at room temperature for about 1 hour, but note it will remain fairly soft.

Notes

  • Using freeze-dried strawberries helps keep the fudge shelf-stable longer and preserves a nice texture.
  • If using fresh strawberries, pat them dry thoroughly to prevent excess moisture from affecting fudge texture.
  • Microwave times may vary depending on wattage; adjust as needed to avoid burning or overheating.
  • Parchment or foil overhang makes removing fudge from the pan easy and clean.
  • For firmer fudge, preferred chilling is recommended, but softer fudge is delicious as well.
