Description

This Salted Caramel Pretzel Bark is a delightful sweet and salty treat combining rich semi-sweet chocolate, crunchy pretzels, and luscious caramel, finished with a sprinkle of sea salt. Perfect for snacking or gifting, this no-bake recipe comes together quickly and yields a satisfying bark that balances sweetness with a hint of savory crunch.

Ingredients

Chocolate Layer

  • 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips (one whole bag)

Pretzels

  • 8 oz pretzels (half of a 16-oz bag)

Caramel Drizzle

  • 11 oz Kraft caramel (one whole bag)
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream

Topping

  • Sea salt, for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Prepare the baking sheet: Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside to prevent sticking and for easy cleanup.
  2. Melt the chocolate: Place the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and melt them in the microwave in 30-second increments, stirring in between until fully melted and smooth.
  3. Spread chocolate and add pretzels: Spread about two-thirds of the melted chocolate evenly over the prepared baking sheet. Top the chocolate layer with the pretzels, arranging them loosely. Gently press the pretzels into the chocolate to ensure they stick.
  4. Melt caramel with cream: In another microwave-safe bowl, combine the Kraft caramels and heavy cream. Microwave for 2 minutes until melted completely, stirring to create a smooth caramel sauce.
  5. Drizzle caramel and chocolate: Drizzle the melted caramel evenly over the layered pretzels. Then, drizzle the remaining melted chocolate over the caramel to add more chocolate flavor and visual appeal.
  6. Add sea salt: Sprinkle flakey sea salt flakes generously on top for a perfect balance of sweet and salty flavors.
  7. Set the bark: Chill the bark in the refrigerator until it is firm and set, about 1 to 2 hours. Alternatively, allow it to set at room temperature for about 2 hours if you prefer not to chill it.
  8. Cut and serve: Once set, remove the bark from the baking sheet by lifting the parchment paper. Break or cut the bark into pieces and serve immediately or store in an airtight container.

Notes

  • You can substitute semi-sweet chocolate chips with milk chocolate or dark chocolate based on your preference.
  • If you prefer a creamier caramel drizzle, add an extra tablespoon of heavy cream when melting the caramel.
  • Store the bark in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week, or refrigerate for longer freshness.
  • Flakey sea salt enhances the texture and flavor, but you can use regular sea salt if unavailable.
  • Ensure the caramel is melted smoothly to avoid clumps when drizzling.
