Description

This Iced Rose Matcha Latte is a delightful floral twist on the classic green tea latte, combining grassy matcha, creamy oat milk, fragrant rose water, and sweet homemade rose simple syrup. Served chilled with an edible rose petal garnish, it offers a refreshing, elegant beverage perfect for spring or anytime you want a touch of beauty in your drink.

Ingredients

Rose Simple Syrup

  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • ½ cup Edible Rose Buds

Matcha Rose Latte

  • 2 Tablespoons Rose Simple Syrup
  • 1 teaspoon Rose Water
  • 2 teaspoons Matcha Powder
  • 3 Tablespoons Hot Water (175°F/80°C)
  • 1 cup Oat Milk or Almond Milk
  • Ice (as needed)

Instructions

  1. Make the Rose Simple Syrup: In a saucepan over medium heat, combine 1 cup water and 1 cup granulated sugar. Stir continuously until the sugar dissolves completely. Add ½ cup edible rose buds to the warm syrup and stir to coat the buds. Allow the mixture to infuse for 30 minutes to 1 hour off the heat. Strain out the rose buds and store the syrup in an airtight container.
  2. Prepare the Matcha: Warm your bamboo whisk by soaking it in hot water for 1–2 minutes to soften the tines. Sift 2 teaspoons matcha powder into a small bowl to remove clumps. Add 3 tablespoons of hot water (about 175°F/80°C) to the matcha and whisk briskly using the bamboo whisk or an electric milk frother until frothy and smooth.
  3. Assemble the Latte: Fill a glass with ice. Pour in 2 tablespoons of rose simple syrup, 1 teaspoon rose water, and 1 cup oat milk or almond milk. Add the prepared matcha shot on top. Stir gently to combine all the flavors and enjoy immediately.

Notes

  • Make it sweeter by adding a splash of vanilla syrup or honey.
  • Use dairy-free options like coconut cream or barista-style oat milk for the cold foam layer.
  • For a hot version, warm the oat milk and matcha together for a cozy beverage.
  • Garnish with dried rose buds on top for extra floral flair and elegance.
