Description
This Ridiculously Easy Roasted Garlic Aioli Sauce is a creamy, flavorful condiment made from caramelized roasted garlic, mayonnaise, and fresh lemon juice. Perfect for elevating sandwiches, serving as a dip, or complementing seafood dishes, this aioli is simple to make and packed with rich, garlicky goodness.
Ingredients
Roasted Garlic
- 1 whole garlic bulb
- Drizzle olive oil
Aioli Mixture
- ¾ cup mayonnaise
- 1 Tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat and Roast Garlic: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice approximately ½ inch off the top of the garlic bulb, exposing the tops of the individual cloves. Place the bulb on a piece of aluminum foil, drizzle a bit of olive oil over the exposed cloves, then wrap the foil tightly around the bulb. Roast in the oven for 25-35 minutes until the cloves are soft, tender, and caramelized, adjusting time depending on bulb size.
- Prepare Aioli Base: While the garlic is roasting, combine the mayonnaise, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and a pinch of salt and pepper in a small bowl. Stir the mixture lightly and set it aside to let the flavors meld.
- Extract and Mash Garlic: Once the garlic is roasted and cool enough to handle, turn the bulb upside down over a bowl and gently squeeze out the softened cloves. Chop and mash the cloves finely or add them directly to the mayonnaise mixture and mash using a fork until fully incorporated with the aioli base. Taste and adjust salt and pepper as needed.
- Serve and Store: Use this roasted garlic aioli immediately as a dip, spread for sandwiches, or alongside seafood dishes. Alternatively, store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
