Description
This Quick and Easy Crepe Recipe allows you to make thin, delicate crepes quickly using a blender. Perfect for a delicious breakfast or dessert, these crepes are light and versatile, ready to be topped with Nutella and fresh fruits for a delightful treat.
Ingredients
Crepe Batter
- 2 eggs
- 1 2/3 cups (200g) all-purpose flour
- 1 cup (200 ml) milk
- 1 cup (200 ml) mineral water
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp salt
Toppings
- Nutella
- Fresh fruits (such as strawberries, bananas, blueberries)
Instructions
- Blend Ingredients: Add the eggs, flour, milk, mineral water, vegetable oil, and salt to a blender. Blend everything together until the batter is completely smooth. Let the batter rest for 5 minutes to allow the flour to hydrate fully.
- Prepare the Pan: While the batter rests, heat a non-stick or crepe pan over medium-high heat. Dip a paper towel in vegetable oil and lightly coat the pan surface. Repeat this oiling before cooking each crepe to prevent sticking.
- Cook the Crepes: Pour about 1/4 cup of the batter into the hot pan. Tilt and swirl the pan methodically to spread the batter in a thin, even layer. Cook until the top looks set and no longer wet and the bottom is a light golden brown, approximately 1 to 2 minutes.
- Flip the Crepe: Carefully run a spatula around the edge of the crepe to loosen it from the pan. Flip the crepe and cook the other side until it is lightly browned as well, about 1 minute more.
- Serve: Transfer the cooked crepe to a plate and keep warm. Continue cooking the remaining batter using the same process and keep stacking the crepes to maintain warmth.
- Add Toppings: Serve the crepes warm, topped with your favorite toppings. A classic choice is spreading Nutella and adding fresh fruits, but you can also personalize with other spreads and condiments.
Notes
- Resting the batter allows for more tender crepes by letting the flour absorb the liquid.
- Use mineral water to help make the crepes lighter and more delicate.
- Adjust the heat to avoid burning the crepes; medium-high is ideal.
- Make sure the pan is oiled before each crepe to prevent sticking and tearing.
- Crepes can be kept warm in a low oven while you finish cooking the rest.
