Ingredients
For Puff Pastry Nutella Croissants
- 2 sheets puff pastry (thawed but still cold)
- 6 tablespoons Nutella (about ½ tablespoon per triangle, adjust as desired)
- 1 tablespoon milk (optional, for sealing and brushing)
For Pillsbury Crescent Roll Nutella Croissants
- 1 can Pillsbury crescent rolls (8 triangles)
- About 4 tablespoons Nutella (approx. ½ tablespoon per triangle)
- 1 tablespoon milk (optional, for sealing and brushing)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- Prepare Puff Pastry: Lightly flour a clean, flat surface or cutting board. Unfold and spread the puff pastry sheet on it. Roll it out with a rolling pin until smooth and even, sprinkling a little flour if needed to prevent sticking.
- Cut Pastry into Triangles: Using a pizza cutter or knife, cut each puff pastry sheet into 6 triangles.
- Add Nutella Filling: Place about ½ tablespoon of Nutella on the wide end of each triangle. Spread slightly with a spoon if desired.
- Roll Croissants: Starting from the wide end, roll each triangle tightly toward the narrow end into a croissant shape. Use a little milk to seal the edge if needed.
- Place on Baking Sheet: Arrange the rolled croissants on the lined baking sheet. Brush the tops with milk or egg wash to achieve a golden finish.
- Bake: Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes or until the croissants are golden and flaky.
- Optional Air Frying: Alternatively, air fry the croissants at 350°F (175°C) for 15 minutes until golden and cooked through.
- Cool and Serve: Allow croissants to cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with extra Nutella or melted chocolate before serving.
- Using Pillsbury Crescent Rolls: Open the crescent rolls package and separate the dough along perforated lines into 8 triangles. Spread about ½ tablespoon Nutella on the wide end of each triangle. Roll tightly from wide to narrow end, sealing with milk. Place on a lined baking sheet and bake at 400°F for 15-20 minutes or air fry at 350°F for 8-10 minutes until golden. Cool and garnish as desired before enjoying.
Notes
- Ensure puff pastry sheets are thawed but still cold for easier handling and better texture.
- Adjust Nutella quantity according to your taste preference for sweetness and filling amount.
- Milk or egg wash helps achieve a shiny, golden croissant exterior.
- Air frying times may vary depending on your air fryer model; check for golden color and flakiness.
- These croissants are best enjoyed fresh but can be warmed slightly before serving if stored.
- For a dairy-free version, substitute milk with plant-based milk and choose a dairy-free puff pastry.
