Ingredients
Lavender Lemon Syrup
- 1 cup Sugar
- 1/4 cup Lemon Juice (freshly squeezed)
- 3/4 cup Water
- 1 Tbsp Dried Lavender (or substitute with fresh lavender or 3 drops of food-grade lavender essential oil)
- 2-3 drops Neon Purple Food Coloring (optional)
Cocktail
- 6 oz Prosecco per glass
- Lemon wheel for garnish
- Sprig of lavender for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the lavender lemon syrup: In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup sugar, 1/4 cup lemon juice, 3/4 cup water, 1 tablespoon dried lavender, and 2-3 drops of neon purple food coloring if desired. This mixture will form the base syrup for the cocktail.
- Simmer the syrup: Place the saucepan over low to medium heat and simmer gently for 15 minutes. Whisk frequently to ensure the sugar dissolves completely and the lavender flavor infuses fully without burning.
- Cool the syrup: Remove the saucepan from heat and allow the syrup to cool for at least 15 minutes. Cooling helps to intensify the flavor and makes it ready for straining.
- Strain the syrup: Pour the cooled mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth to remove the lavender buds and any solids, resulting in a smooth syrup.
- Mix the cocktail: To assemble each cocktail, pour 2 ounces of the prepared lavender lemon syrup into the bottom of a glass.
- Add Prosecco: Top off each glass with 6 ounces of chilled Prosecco, gently stirring if desired to combine.
- Garnish and serve: Garnish each cocktail with a lemon wheel and a sprig of lavender for an elegant and fragrant presentation. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
- Dried lavender can be substituted with fresh lavender or 3 drops of food-grade lavender essential oil—but use essential oil sparingly to avoid overpowering flavors.
- Adjust the sweetness by varying the sugar amount in the syrup to suit your taste preferences.
- Neon purple food coloring is optional and mainly for visual effect; omit if you prefer a natural look.
- Ensure Prosecco is chilled well before serving to maximize refreshment.
