Ingredients
Strawberry Fruit Leather
- 1 pound strawberries, sliced
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon sugar
Mango Fruit Leather
- 1 pound mango, diced
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon sugar
Blueberry Fruit Leather
- 1 pound blueberries
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon sugar
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 170 degrees Fahrenheit and line three baking sheets with parchment paper to prepare for drying the fruit purees.
- Blend Fruit Mixture: Add each fruit (strawberries, mango, or blueberries), lemon juice, and sugar to a blender separately. Blend each mixture until smooth, which should take about 1 minute for strawberries. Repeat this step for mango and blueberry mixtures.
- Spread Mixture: Pour each blended fruit mixture evenly onto the prepared baking sheets. Use a spatula to spread the purée to form an even, thin layer for each flavor.
- Bake the Fruit Leather: Place the baking sheets in the oven and cook for 3 to 4 hours, or until the fruit leather is dry but still pliable.
- Cool the Leather: Remove the baking sheets from the oven and allow the fruit leather to cool completely on the stovetop counter.
- Trim and Cut: Peel the fruit leather along with the parchment paper, trim the edges with scissors to create neat rectangles. Cut each rectangle lengthwise into 6 long strips, then cut each strip in half to make 12 total strips per flavor.
- Store Properly: Leave the parchment paper on the back of each fruit roll-up strips to make them easier to eat and store. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one month or freeze for up to a year.
Notes
- To store, place rolls in an airtight container and keep at room temperature for up to 1 month.
- For long-term storage, freeze the fruit roll ups in airtight freezer bags to prevent freezer burn; they can last up to 1 year frozen.
- Keeping the parchment paper on the backing helps maintain their shape and prevents sticking when eating or storing.
- You can customize flavors by using your favorite fruits following the same basic process.
