Description
Sweet, smoky, and caramelized grilled pineapple rings glazed with a luscious brown sugar butter mixture, perfect as a quick summer side dish or a simple, delightful dessert.
Ingredients
Fruits
- 1 ripe pineapple peeled, cored, and cut into rings or spears
Glaze
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat the grill: Preheat your grill to medium heat to ensure it is hot enough to caramelize the pineapple without burning.
- Prepare the glaze: In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, melted butter, cinnamon if using, and a pinch of salt, stirring until well mixed.
- Glaze the pineapple: Brush both sides of each pineapple ring or spear generously with the brown sugar butter glaze to ensure maximum flavor and caramelization.
- Grill the pineapple: Place the glazed pineapple pieces on the grill and cook for 2–3 minutes per side. Grill until distinct grill marks appear and the glaze is bubbling and caramelized.
- Serve: Remove the pineapple from the grill and serve warm. This can be enjoyed on its own or paired with a scoop of ice cream for a refreshing dessert.
Notes
- Recipe Variations: Add a tablespoon of spiced rum to the glaze for a richer flavor with a kick.
- Substitute butter with coconut oil and sprinkle toasted coconut on top after grilling for a tropical twist.
- Add chili powder, cayenne, and lime zest to the glaze for a sweet-and-spicy flavor contrast.
- Storage: Cool grilled pineapple completely, then store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Can be eaten cold or reheated gently in a skillet or microwave before serving.
