Ingredients
Edamame Hummus Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked shelled edamame
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 cup tahini (60 g)
- 1 tsp sea salt
- Pinch of black pepper
Instructions
- Cook and Prepare Edamame: Cook the shelled edamame according to the package instructions, typically boiling or steaming until tender. Once cooked, drain and rinse them under cold water to cool.
- Blend Ingredients: Add the cooled edamame to a high-speed blender or food processor along with the garlic, fresh lemon juice, tahini, sea salt, and black pepper. Begin mixing on low speed, then gradually increase the speed. Pause occasionally to scrape down the sides of the bowl to ensure an even, smooth blend.
- Serve or Store: Once the hummus reaches a creamy, smooth consistency, serve it immediately as a dip or spread. Alternatively, transfer the hummus to an airtight container and refrigerate. It will keep well for up to 5 days.
Notes
- For a thinner consistency, add a tablespoon or two of water or olive oil while blending.
- Adjust garlic and lemon juice amounts to suit your taste preference.
- This hummus pairs wonderfully with fresh vegetable sticks, pita bread, or as a sandwich spread.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container and consume within 5 days for the best flavor and freshness.
