Description
These easy oven-baked chicken kabobs are a delicious and simple way to enjoy juicy, flavorful chicken marinated overnight in a tangy ranch and Worcestershire sauce blend. Perfect for a weeknight dinner or casual gathering, the kabobs bake evenly on a rack for tender, golden brown bites every time.
Ingredients
Chicken
- 3 lbs boneless chicken breast, cut into 2-inch pieces
Marinade
- 1/2 cup ranch dressing
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp white vinegar
- 1 tsp honey mustard
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
- Slice the chicken: Cut the boneless chicken breasts into 2-inch pieces to ensure even cooking and easy threading onto skewers.
- Prepare the marinade: In a small bowl, whisk together the ranch dressing, olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, white vinegar, honey mustard, sugar, salt, and freshly ground black pepper until well combined.
- Marinate the chicken: Place the sliced chicken pieces into a large bowl. Pour the prepared marinade over the chicken and toss thoroughly so all pieces are evenly coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight (about 8 hours) to allow flavors to infuse.
- Thread the chicken: Remove the chicken from the marinade and thread the pieces onto skewers, spacing them slightly to ensure even cooking. Arrange the skewers on a baking dish so they don't touch the bottom, or place them on a wire rack atop a baking sheet for best results.
- Bake the kabobs: Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C). Bake the assembled kabobs for approximately 25 minutes, or until the chicken is golden brown and has reached an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) measured with a meat thermometer to ensure it is fully cooked.
Notes
- For safety, use metal or soaked wooden skewers to prevent burning in the oven.
- Ensure chicken pieces are cut uniformly for even cooking.
- Check internal temperature with a meat thermometer to avoid undercooking.
- Marinating overnight enhances flavor and tenderness but at least 2 hours is recommended if short on time.
- Serve with grilled vegetables or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
