Description

Delicious and easy-to-make Oreo pancakes that combine fluffy homemade pancakes with the rich flavor of crushed Oreo cookies. Perfect for a special breakfast or brunch treat, these pancakes have a delightful crunch and chocolatey twist that kids and adults will love.

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 15 Oreo chocolate sandwich cookies, finely crushed

Wet Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 2 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted (plus more for skillet)

Optional

  • Extra crushed Oreos for topping

Instructions

  1. Combine dry ingredients: Whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and finely crushed Oreos in a large bowl. Set aside to prepare the wet ingredients.
  2. Mix wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk the beaten eggs, whole milk, and melted butter until well combined.
  3. Make the batter: Pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture and stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; the batter should remain slightly lumpy. For best texture, let the batter rest for at least 30 minutes, or cover and refrigerate overnight if preparing ahead.
  4. Preheat skillet and cook pancakes: Heat a skillet over medium heat and add enough butter to lightly coat the pan. Using a 1/3 cup measure, ladle batter onto the skillet. Cook pancakes until the edges are set and the underside is golden brown, then carefully flip and cook the other side until browned and cooked through. Repeat in batches, adding more butter as needed between batches.

Notes

  • Allowing the batter to rest improves pancake texture and makes them fluffier.
  • Use fresh Oreos for the best flavor, and crush them finely for even distribution in the batter.
  • Keep cooked pancakes warm in a low oven while finishing the batch.
  • Adjust milk quantity if batter is too thick or thin; it should be pourable but not runny.
  • Serve with maple syrup, whipped cream, or extra crushed Oreos for added indulgence.
