Description

This Easy Chocolate Date Bark is a quick and delicious no-bake treat that combines sweet Medjool dates, creamy peanut butter, and rich melted chocolate, topped with crunchy roasted peanuts and flaky sea salt. Perfect as a healthy snack or dessert, this viral TikTok recipe is simple to prepare and requires no oven time, making it ideal for busy days.

Ingredients

Base

  • 2 cups Medjool dates, pitted and halved (about 12 oz by weight)

Spread

  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter (natural or old-school)

Topping

  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet, milk, or dark)
  • 1/4 cup roasted salted peanuts
  • 1/4 tsp flaky sea salt (or to taste)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Dates: Pit and halve the Medjool dates. Spread them out evenly in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Place another sheet of parchment paper on top and press the dates flat using a glass or measuring cup to create an even base.
  2. Drizzle Peanut Butter: Warm the peanut butter until it becomes easily drizzleable—this can be done by microwaving for about 15–20 seconds. Pour the warmed peanut butter evenly over the flattened date layer.
  3. Melt Chocolate: Place the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on medium power, stirring every 30 seconds, until the chocolate melts smoothly. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the peanut butter and date layer, then spread it with a spoon. Shake the pan gently back and forth to smooth the chocolate surface.
  4. Add Toppings: While the chocolate is still warm, sprinkle the roasted salted peanuts evenly over the top. Finish by sprinkling the flaky sea salt evenly across the bark.
  5. Chill and Set: Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator and allow the bark to chill for 1 to 2 hours or until firm. Once set, break or cut into pieces and enjoy your delicious chocolate date bark!

Notes

  • Use good-quality Medjool dates for the best natural sweetness and texture.
  • You can substitute peanut butter with almond butter or sunflower seed butter if preferred.
  • Adjust the amount of flaky sea salt to your taste for a perfect balance of sweet and salty.
  • Store the bark in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • This recipe is great for a quick healthy snack or a dessert alternative to conventional candy bark.
