Description

This Easy & Pink Iced Strawberry Latte is a refreshing and visually stunning cold coffee drink combining the boldness of espresso with the natural sweetness of homemade strawberry syrup. Perfect for a warm day, this latte features a smooth, fruity-flavored syrup made by simmering strawberries with sugar and vanilla, then combined with chilled espresso, milk of your choice, and ice cubes for a delightful treat.

Ingredients

Espresso

  • ¼ cup espresso (very strong coffee, equals 2 shots/ounces)

Strawberry Syrup

  • 1 cup sliced strawberries (about 140g)
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1 cup water

For Serving

  • 2 cups milk of choice (oat milk recommended)
  • Ice cubes, to taste
  • Optional toppings: freeze-dried strawberries, whipped cream, coffee creamer, chocolate syrup, caramel syrup

Instructions

  1. Make Espresso: Brew ¼ cup of very strong espresso using a coffee machine or preferred method. Set aside to cool completely before using.
  2. Prepare Strawberry Syrup: In a small pan, combine 1 cup sliced strawberries, ¼ cup granulated sugar, 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional), and 1 cup water.
  3. Simmer Mixture: Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer gently for 15-20 minutes until it thickens into a syrup-like consistency and the strawberries have softened.
  4. Strain Syrup: Pour the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve without pressing the solids to ensure a smooth, seed-free strawberry syrup.
  5. Assemble Drink: Fill a glass with ice cubes according to your preference. Pour in the prepared strawberry syrup over the ice.
  6. Add Espresso and Milk: Pour the cooled espresso over the strawberry syrup, then top with 2 cups of your milk of choice (such as oat milk).
  7. Optional Garnish: Enhance your iced latte with toppings like freeze-dried strawberries, whipped cream, coffee creamer, chocolate syrup, or caramel syrup if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy.

Notes

  • Ensure espresso is cooled completely before assembling to keep the drink refreshingly cold.
  • Do not press strawberry pulp through the sieve to maintain a smooth syrup.
  • Adjust amount of strawberry syrup and milk to taste for desired sweetness and creaminess.
  • Use milk alternatives like oat, almond, or soy milk to suit dietary preferences.
  • Optional vanilla extract enhances the flavor but can be omitted.
