Description

A refreshing and easy-to-make Crab Salad featuring imitation crab meat combined with crunchy celery, aromatic herbs, and a tangy mayonnaise dressing, perfect for a quick lunch or light dinner.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound imitation crab meat (cut into cubes or flaked)
  • 1 cup celery (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 red onion (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons fresh dill chopped (plus more for garnish)
  • Chopped green onions (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Chop: Using a sharp knife, finely chop the imitation crab meat into cubes or flake it, then finely chop the celery, red onion, and fresh dill. Transfer all the chopped ingredients into a large mixing bowl.
  2. Combine: Add Old Bay seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and mayonnaise to the bowl with the chopped crab and vegetables. Stir gently but thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.
  3. Serve: Sprinkle additional fresh chopped dill and chopped green onions over the salad before serving. Optionally, garnish with lemon slices to enhance the fresh flavors.
  4. Store: Serve the crab salad immediately or cover the bowl tightly and refrigerate. The salad can be chilled for 2 to 3 days while maintaining freshness and flavor.

Notes

  • For best flavor, use fresh herbs and freshly squeezed lemon juice.
  • This salad pairs well with crackers, on a bed of lettuce, or as a sandwich filling.
  • You can adjust the seasoning levels according to your taste preference.
  • Keep the salad covered in the refrigerator if not serving immediately to preserve freshness.
  • Mayonnaise can be substituted with Greek yogurt for a lighter option.
