Ingredients
Crust
- 16 ounces crescent dough (two sheets, or pinch together two tubes of regular crescent dough)
Spread
- 8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
- 1 cup sour cream
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ¾ teaspoon dried dill
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
Toppings
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 large carrots (shredded)
- 1 cup broccoli (chopped small)
- 1 cup bell pepper (chopped small, about two peppers)
- 2 green onions (green tops, chopped finely, optional garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Crust: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly oil a rimmed baking pan or line it with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- Assemble Dough: Lay the crescent dough sheets on the prepared pan, overlapping slightly. Pinch and press the seams together firmly to seal and create one large sheet. Fold any extra dough down around the edges to form a crust border.
- Bake Crust: Place the dough in the preheated oven and bake for 13 to 15 minutes, or until the crust is lightly browned. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely on the pan to room temperature before adding toppings.
- Mix Spread: In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and sour cream. Stir until smooth and creamy. Add garlic powder, onion powder, dried dill, salt, and pepper and mix thoroughly to blend all flavors evenly.
- Apply Spread: Evenly spread the cream cheese mixture over the cooled crust, leaving a thin border around the edges uncovered to create a crust perimeter.
- Add Cheese and Vegetables: Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese uniformly over the cream cheese layer. Follow by evenly distributing the shredded carrot, finely chopped broccoli, and chopped bell pepper over the cheddar.
- Garnish and Serve: Top with finely chopped green onions if desired. Slice the veggie pizza into rectangles and serve chilled or at room temperature for a crisp and refreshing snack or appetizer.
Notes
- Ensure the crust is completely cooled before spreading the cream cheese mixture to prevent melting or sogginess.
- Feel free to customize the vegetable toppings with your favorites or seasonal produce.
- This pizza is best served within a few hours of assembly but can be refrigerated for up to 2 days.
- For a gluten-free option, substitute crescent dough with a gluten-free crust.
- Chopping vegetables finely helps ensure every bite has a balanced mix of flavors and textures.
