Description

This Cinnamon Sugar Dessert Pizza is a delectable treat featuring a buttery pizza crust topped with cinnamon sugar, a crumbly streusel topping, and a sweet vanilla icing drizzle. Perfect for a quick and delicious dessert that serves 8, baked to golden perfection in just 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Pizza Base

  • 13.8-ounce package refrigerated pizza crust (Pillsbury brand recommended)
  • 3 Tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

Cinnamon Sugar Topping

  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Streusel Topping

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Icing

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (204°C). Prepare a pizza pan by lightly coating it with non-stick cooking spray or oil to ensure the pizza doesn’t stick.
  2. Roll Out Dough: Roll out the refrigerated pizza crust onto the prepared pizza pan, shaping it to fit the pan evenly.
  3. Butter the Dough: Spread the softened 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter evenly over the surface of the rolled-out dough.
  4. Mix Cinnamon Sugar: In a small mixing bowl, combine 1/3 cup granulated sugar with 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, mixing thoroughly to ensure an even blend.
  5. Sprinkle Cinnamon Sugar: Evenly sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the buttered pizza dough, leaving about a half-inch border for the crust untouched.
  6. Prepare Streusel Topping: In a medium mixing bowl, add the cold cubed butter, all-purpose flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and salt. Using a pastry cutter or fork, cut the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture becomes crumbly and coarse.
  7. Add Streusel Topping: Evenly sprinkle the streusel topping over the cinnamon sugar-coated pizza dough.
  8. Bake the Pizza: Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 9 to 10 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the streusel is set. Remove from the oven and allow to cool on a rack for about 10 minutes.
  9. Prepare Icing: While the pizza cools, whisk together powdered sugar, heavy cream, and vanilla extract in a small bowl until smooth and pourable.
  10. Drizzle and Serve: Drizzle the prepared icing evenly over the cooled pizza. Cut into slices and serve warm for the best taste experience.

Notes

  • For a crispier crust, extend the baking time by 2-3 minutes but watch closely to avoid burning.
  • You can substitute the refrigerated pizza crust with homemade dough if preferred.
  • The streusel topping can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator until ready to use.
  • Adjust the icing thickness by adding more cream for a thinner glaze or more powdered sugar for a thicker drizzle.
  • Serve this dessert pizza warm for optimal flavor and texture.
