Description

Delicious and easy-to-make Chocolate Covered Pretzel Rods combine the salty crunch of pretzels with rich, smooth chocolate and your favorite toppings, perfect for parties or a sweet snack.

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces pretzel rods
  • 16 ounces chopped milk, semisweet, dark, or white chocolate (or candy melts)
  • Sprinkles, mini M&M's, shredded coconut, toffee bits, chopped nuts, or other toppings of your choice

Instructions

  1. Melt the chocolate: Fill clean, tall, heat-safe jars with the chopped chocolate or candy melts. Place the jars into the crock pot and carefully pour hot water into the crock pot until it reaches about halfway up the sides of the jars, avoiding any water getting into the jars.
  2. Heat the chocolate: Set the crock pot to high temperature and let the chocolate melt for approximately 30 minutes, stirring occasionally with a long-handled spoon to ensure even melting.
  3. Adjust temperature: Once fully melted, reduce the crock pot temperature to low or warm to keep the chocolate fluid without burning it.
  4. Dip the pretzels: Dip each pretzel rod into the melted chocolate, gently shaking off any excess chocolate, then lay them onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. Add toppings: Immediately sprinkle your chosen toppings onto the chocolate-covered pretzel rods before the chocolate sets to ensure they stick well.
  6. Set the chocolate: Allow the chocolate to fully harden on the pretzels at room temperature before transferring them to an airtight container for storage.

Notes

  • Use a variety of chocolate types (milk, semisweet, dark, or white) for different flavor profiles.
  • Ensure no water gets into the chocolate jars to prevent the chocolate from seizing.
  • For quicker setting, refrigerate the dipped pretzels after adding toppings.
  • Store finished pretzels in an airtight container at room temperature to maintain crispness.
  • Experiment with different toppings to customize your chocolate pretzels.
