Description

Butter Roasted Radishes is a flavorful side dish featuring tender radishes roasted to perfection with melted butter and a blend of seasonings. This simple recipe elevates ordinary radishes by roasting them until slightly browned and tender, then garnishing with fresh cilantro or parsley for a vibrant finish. Perfect as a warm accompaniment to any meal.

Ingredients

Radishes

  • 2-3 bunches large radishes

Seasoning & Butter

  • ⅓ cup butter, melted
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Pinch cayenne pepper

Garnish

  • Cilantro or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (205 degrees Celsius) to ensure it is hot enough to roast the radishes evenly and achieve a nice browning effect.
  2. Prepare Radishes: Thoroughly wash the radishes and discard the greens. Slice each radish in half lengthwise from root to stem to create flat surfaces for roasting.
  3. Arrange & Butter: Place the radish halves flat side down in a 9x13-inch baking dish. Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the radishes to coat them thoroughly.
  4. Season: Sprinkle the radishes generously with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and a pinch of cayenne pepper. Gently shift and shake the pan to ensure the radishes are evenly coated with the seasonings and butter.
  5. Roast: Roast the radishes in the preheated oven for 20-24 minutes until they are slightly browned and tender to the bite, stirring or shaking the pan halfway through to promote even cooking.
  6. Garnish & Serve: Remove the radishes from the oven and garnish with fresh cilantro or parsley before serving warm as a delicious side dish.

Notes

  • For best flavor, use large, fresh radishes and avoid smaller varieties which may roast too quickly and dry out.
  • You can substitute the butter with olive oil for a dairy-free version, but butter adds richness and enhances browning.
  • If you prefer a milder spiciness, adjust or omit the cayenne pepper according to taste.
  • Leftover roasted radishes can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated gently.
