Description

A delightful and creamy Banana Split Fluff salad combining cool whip, cherry pie filling, sweetened condensed milk, and an assortment of classic banana split toppings like bananas, pineapple, walnuts, and chocolate chips. This no-cook dessert is perfect for parties and gatherings, offering a refreshing and nostalgic treat.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 cups Cool Whip (thawed)
  • 1 (21 oz) can cherry pie filling
  • 1 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups mini marshmallows
  • 1 3/4 cup pineapple chunks
  • 2 bananas (peeled and sliced into 1/2 inch chunks)
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 3/4 cup maraschino cherries
  • 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 1-2 tbsp chocolate syrup

Instructions

  1. Mix base ingredients: Using a wooden spoon, thoroughly mix together the Cool Whip, cherry pie filling, sweetened condensed milk, and sour cream in a large bowl until well combined to create a creamy base.
  2. Fold in toppings: Gently fold the mini marshmallows, pineapple chunks, banana pieces, chopped walnuts, maraschino cherries, and mini chocolate chips into the creamy base to evenly distribute all ingredients without deflating the fluff.
  3. Chill the salad: Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate the fluff salad for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld and to chill the dessert properly before serving.
  4. Serve with chocolate drizzle: Before serving, drizzle 1-2 tablespoons of chocolate syrup on top for added flavor and presentation. Serve cold and enjoy!

Notes

  • For best texture, do not overmix when folding in the marshmallows and fruit to keep the fluff light and airy.
  • Can be made up to 24 hours ahead and stored covered in the refrigerator.
  • Walnuts can be substituted with pecans or omitted for nut-free version.
  • Use fresh bananas just before serving to prevent browning; alternatively, toss banana slices with a little lemon juice.
  • Chocolate syrup amount can be adjusted based on sweetness preference.
