Description

The Bahama Mama Blended Cocktail is a tropical, frozen drink that combines orange juice, pineapple juice, coconut flavored rum, crème de banana liqueur, and spiced rum. Frozen for 24 hours and blended with ice, this cocktail is sweet, refreshing, and perfect for serving at summer parties or relaxing beach days. Garnished with pineapple wedges and maraschino cherries, it offers a vibrant and flavorful splash of the Caribbean in every sip.

Ingredients

Juice and Liquors

  • 6 cups Orange Juice (~1 cup additional for blending, if required)
  • 2 ½ cups Pineapple Juice
  • 1 ½ cups Coconut Flavored Rum
  • 1 cup Crème de Banana Liqueur
  • 1 cup Spiced Rum

For Serving

  • Grenadine (½ oz per glass)
  • Pineapple Wedges (optional)
  • Maraschino Cherries (optional)

Instructions

  1. Mix Ingredients: In a large freezer-safe bowl, combine the orange juice, pineapple juice, coconut flavored rum, crème de banana liqueur, and spiced rum. Stir thoroughly to blend the flavors.
  2. Freeze Mixture: Place the mixture in the freezer and allow it to freeze completely for a minimum of 24 hours to achieve a slushy consistency for blending.
  3. Prepare Glasses: For serving, place ½ oz of grenadine in the bottom of each 10 to 12 oz glass to add a sweet, colorful base.
  4. Blend Cocktail - Conventional Blender: Fill a blender jar halfway with ice cubes, then add the frozen drink mixture to fill the other half. Blend on high speed until the mixture is thick and the ice is fully broken down, creating a smooth frozen cocktail.
  5. Blend Cocktail - Margaritaville Machine: Fill the Margaritaville machine’s blender jar halfway with the frozen drink mixture and top with shaved ice until about ¾ full. Pulse manually and blend until the cocktail is thick and well combined.
  6. Serve and Garnish: Pour the blended cocktail over the grenadine in each glass. Garnish with pineapple wedges and maraschino cherries if desired for an extra tropical touch.
