Description

A quick and easy recipe for perfectly crispy and melty grilled cheese sandwiches made in an air fryer. This method ensures a golden, buttery crust with gooey cheese inside in just 15 minutes.

Ingredients

Bread and Cheese

  • 4 pieces sandwich bread
  • 4 slices cheese of choice (cheddar, American, Gouda, Havarti, provolone)

Butter

  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Butter the bread: Spread butter evenly on one side of a piece of bread. This buttered side will be the outside, so place it butter-side down in the air fryer basket.
  2. Add cheese and assemble: Place 2 slices of your chosen cheese on top of the bread in the air fryer, then add another slice of bread on top. Spread butter on the top side of the upper slice of bread to ensure both sides get crispy and golden.
  3. Air fry the sandwich: Set the air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and cook the sandwich for 5 minutes. Then carefully flip the sandwich over and air fry for an additional 5 minutes or until the bread is toasted and the cheese is melted to your liking.

Notes

  • Use your favorite cheese or a combination for extra flavor.
  • Make sure to butter both sides of the sandwich for the best crispiness.
  • Cooking time may vary slightly depending on your air fryer model.
  • For extra fillings like tomatoes or ham, add them between the layers of cheese before air frying.
